Kansan Women Gain the full right to Suffrage
kshs.org
- November 5th: After almost fifty years of campaigning, Kansan women finally gained the right to full suffrage ("Women's Suffrage"). The road to suffrage was long and hard, with small victories won along the way but momentum finally picked up as the nineteenth century faded out and the twentieth century came to light ("Women's Suffrage"). It was this momentum that would lead Kansas to become the eighth state to legalize women's full voting rights ("Women's Suffrage"). Even after their win, Kansas women continued working on national suffrage and didn't stop until their goal was achieved ("Women's Suffrage").

- Early 1912: One hundred twelve acres of land in Hutchinson were proposed for purchase to expand what would become the home of the Kansas State Fair ("The History of..."). The grounds were bought through a bond approval and soon after the land was given over to the state, officially becoming the home to the Kansas State Fair ("The History of..."). However, the first 'Official' Kansas State Fair was not held until September of 1913 ("The History of..."). Since then, the Kansas State Fair has become a time honored tradition of many and probably would not be the same if not for its home in Hutchinson ("The History of...").
