- 1912: In 1912 a French adaptation of Victor Hugo's novel, Les Misérables, was released in France and was directed by French director Ablert Capellani ("Les Misérables"). Capellani was known for his extreme film adaptions of classics and his film adaption of Les Misérables was just as distinguished ("Les Misérables", Brennan). The film was silent and in black in white ("Les Misérables"). It starred Henry Krauss, Henri Étiévant, Maria Ventura, and Mistinguett and was over five hours long ("Les Misérables", Brennan). It was one of the early adaptions of Les Misérables and thus is not widely known in today's age ("Les Misérables", Brennan).

Through the 60s, 70s, and 80s Kelly transitioned into television roles, though his acting roles in the 80s were few ("Gene Curran Kelly"). Kelly died in 1996 after suffering from two strokes in the last few years of his life ("Gene Curran Kelly"). Kelly went down as one of the most renown directors, actors, and choreographers of the twentieth century and left behind a legacy to be remembered ("Gene Curran Kelly").

An International opera star: Enrico Caruso

Caruso had the passion for singing from when he was young and performed professionally for the first time in 1895 at a small theater in Napoli, Italy ("Enrico Caruso..."). In the years to come, Caruso continued to sing operas and saw ever increasing praise ("Enrico Caruso..."). He would go on from there to gain national, then international acclaim as an opera singer after several breakout roles and performances ("Enrico Caruso..."). Caruso remained very popular from 1902 all the way through 1920 and would perform over six hundred times at the MET in New York City during this period ("Enrico Caruso...").
