First Portable Typewriter in the U.S.

- 1912: The Corona Typewriter Company introduced the portable typewriter to the U.S. in 1912 ("Science and Technology...";"Corona 3"). This typewriter, the Corona 3, would become one of the most top selling and successful typewriters of all time, largely due to their connivence and reliability ("Corona 3"). The Corona 3 came with several accessories, such as a tripod stand and a label holder, and would eventually be produced in colors like red and blue ("Corona 3"). These fine typewriters are still prized by collectors and can be widely found today in antique malls across the U.S. and Europe ("Corona 3").

The first electric blanket

- 1912: Dr. Sidney I. Russell invented the first ever electric blanket in 1912 (Painter). Russell intended for the electric blanket as an easier way to keep patients warm and the public didn't really show any interest until a British company started producing a version in the 1920s (Painter). Since then, many different versions of the electric, or heating, blanket have been produced and it has evolved into a safe, more user friendly connivence (Painter). The product has become fairly popular all across the world and millions continued to be sold every year (Painter).

- May 30th, 1912: Aviation pioneer Wilbur Wright died of tuberculosis in late May of 1912 (Benson). Wilbur was half of the Wright Brothers duo, with his brother Orville Wright (Benson). The Wright Brothers were both mechanically inclined and were extremely interested in aviation from when they were children (Benson). The brothers would stamp themselves into history when they made their first manned powered flight (Benson). From then on out they continued to make advancements in aviation and went on to surprise and stun people all over the world (Benson). The Wright Brothers are some of the most recognizable and well-known members of the early aviation community to this day (Benson).
